A Family Tradition of Interior Design Excellence
Around Boston, MA, interior design help usually falls into one of two categories: large chain design centers or individual interior designers. This usually leads to a choice between slightly lower prices with less experienced help or personalized attention with higher prices all around.
Lynne Greene believes you shouldn’t have to settle for inexperienced design help or pay exorbitant prices for attractive and functional interior design and at family-run Lynne Greene Interiors you won’t have to.
Discovering interior design
Boston, MA interior designer Lynne Greene first discovered the joy of interior decorating in 1985 when she and husband Paul built their own home. After carefully selecting upholstery fabrics and coordinating wallpaper, Lynne invited some friends over to see the end result. They were impressed. “One of them said, ‘You should be a decorator,’ and that’s how the idea took hold,” remembers Lynne.Lynne made the leap from a nursing career to full time interior design work in 1987 when she purchased a Decorating Den franchise. In just a few short years she had moved from student to actually teaching the design courses at franchise headquarters. But something was still missing.
Getting a handle on pricing
Lynne realized she lacked an understanding of exactly what made the difference between furniture sets costing thousands of dollars… and others costing ten times as much.
Not finding this type of training through her franchise, Lynne went to work for two different Boston area furniture stores on the side to fill in those gaps. Today she uses the knowledge she gained to help her clients avoid thousands of dollars in decorating mistakes.
Lynne Greene Interiors: Expert in-home design consultations, Hunter Douglas shades and a complete interior design showroom
In 1991, Lynne left her franchise business to form Lynne Green Interiors. Her business and four children all seemed to grow at the same exhilarating pace. It was like a natural extension to include them in the business as they grew older.
Lynne started the new business working from her home in Woburn.
Lynne’s first client hired her to consult on a room-by-room basis as she built her house.
“It gave her a chance to see what I could do without making a huge investment up front to decorate her entire home.” says Lynne. It’s an approach many of her clients still use today.
Clients also like visiting Lynne Greene Interiors’ new showroom in Burlington, MA. It’s a place where they can literally get a feel for fabrics, wallpapers, energy saving window coverings, and all the little accents that turn a house into a home.
Lynne Greene Interiors is also one of just a handful of elite Hunter Douglas Gallery Dealers in all of eastern Massachusetts.
Only Gallery Dealers offer the full line of Hunter Douglas shades, blinds, and other window treatments including the high-end exclusive Alustra collection.
It also means quotes include free measuring and installation. And their professionally trained installers can offer you the Hunter Douglas Lifetime Guarantee.
Meet the Lynne Greene Interiors Family
Today, Lynne Greene Interiors is truly a family owned business. It’s owned by Lynne, her husband Paul, son Paul Jr. (friends call him “Duke”) and daughter Jacqui.
Lynne Greene
Lynne brings over two decades of interior design experience into every client’s home. Having trained across the United States as a designer, she knows what looks good. But as a working mother and former nurse, she also has an unrivaled ability to mix useful functionality with attractive design.
Paul “Duke” Greene, Jr.
Duke is a Hunter Douglas Certified Professional Installer. In fact, he holds more certifications than you can shake a stick at (Journeyman I & II, Master Level I & II, Advanced ESI Training, Shutter Training, you get the picture). While most clients don’t know what all the certifications mean, they do know Duke is definitely your man when it comes to installing everything from drapes to motorized shutters and shades.
Jacqui Greene
Jacqui came to work in the family business shortly after graduating from Assumption College. She quickly learned to multitask in order to keep the office running smoothly and has also become the instore sales associate. She enjoys meeting clients and educated them on the products and services we provide.
Dear Lynne and Duke,
I want to thank you and let you know how pleased I am with my new dining room and living room window treatments. The Hunter Douglas silhouettes are a perfect combination of sun protection, light and privacy that we are looking for.
Duke’s workmanship, precise measuring and seemingly effortless installations were great. He is a wealth of information and tricks of the trade concerning the Hunter Douglas products. It was obvious that everyone at Lynne Greene wanted me to be completely satisfied with the new treatments.
Thank you again for all your patience with my many questions and help with all the decisions. I look forward to working with you again with my next decorating project.
Sincerely,
