Massachusetts Sales Tax holiday
For 2026, the Massachusetts Sales Tax Holiday is:
- Saturday, August 8, 2026
- Sunday, August 9, 2026
During these two days:
- ? No 6.25% Massachusetts sales tax on most eligible retail items.
- ? Each individual item must cost $2,500 or less to qualify.
- ? You can buy multiple qualifying items and still receive the exemption, even if your total purchase exceeds $2,500.
Items that generally do NOT qualify include:
- Motor vehicles
- Boats
- Meals
- Alcohol
- Tobacco and marijuana products
- Gasoline
- Utilities
- Purchases made for business use
