Biggest Christmas Debate Real or Fake Tree

Holiday Decorating

Real tree supporters probably inherited a tradition of finding the perfect tree and hauling it home. The fresh scent of being in the forest or local tree lot brings you back to your childhood days. The fake tree supporters would say buy the candle and reuse the same tree with the lights already built-in.

Many might say cutting down a tree every year bad for the environment, but they’re being cut down and harvested in ways that they’re being replanted. Therefore, they are actually renewable resources that provide lots of benefits to nature. These trees provide clean air, improve water quality and serve as wildlife habitats. The dead trees collected after Christmas can be used for mulch or to help prevent dune erosion.

The disposal of artificial trees is never good for the environment, but on average people keep these trees for 10 plus years. This is a good way to save money vs buying a $100 plus real tree each year. The initial investment of a few hundred after a few years pays for itself.

The mess of disposing of a real tree can also leave you with needles for weeks or months. A fake tree can go up and stay up longer than a real tree might lose its needles and start to wither in only a few short weeks. Another argument for fake trees is they are looking more and more realistic than older versions.

In conclusion, the real vs fake debate will continue to be a passionate conversation during the holiday season. The real supporters put in the extra effort, time and money to find the “one” each holiday season. The fake supporters like to keep the holiday season effortless and enjoy the ease of their tree. Either way Lynne Greene Interiors hopes you have a wonderful holiday season!!
